Ontario’s flu campaign officially begins Wednesday morning.
Health Minister Christine Elliott will be at the Rexall pharmacy at Women’s College Hospital just before 10am to kick off the campaign, which sees the flu shot offered at all pharmacies in the province along with doctors offices.
There have been delays in distribution of the flu vaccine this year, which means some residents of Ontario might have to wait a little longer to get their shots.
A Health Ministry spokesperson says the delays for the vaccine stem from the World Health Organization taking longer to identify the common influenza strains circulating this year.
Both flu shots, the regular and high dose for seniors, were offered this past weekend at The Zoomer Show.
Listen for more on the importance of getting your flu shot on Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer after the noon news.
